Intro and Methods

What does research say about eating breakfast Allie Wendell The University of Iowa Introduction How does eating breakfast effect your day?  There are many known benefits of eating breakfast that researches have been studying for a long time.  Eating breakfast is important for many reasons. When you sleep you are not eating for about seven to eight hours and since breakfast is the first meal of the day, it helps replenish all the nutrients and glucose you could have lost overnight. Breakfast also can help keep you energized for most of the day, so you are focused and ready for whatever tasks you need to complete.  Not eating breakfast can have some effects on your daily activities.  If you do not eat breakfast, you could be too tired to get through all your tasks for the day or not focused enough for these tasks. Topic proposal

My topic for this research paper is parking at universities.  Then I will narrow it down to parking at the university of iowa and how it differs from other universities.  This is an important topic because many people at the university of iowa complain that there is not enough parking for them and they need somewhere to park their car.  To help conduct this research I will make a survey and survey student on their opinions/ if they have parking or not.  This is to see the results I get back and if they are swayed one way or another.  I will also conduct a few interviews to get more information on the research.  Two research questions are, why is parking important for students and does parking at other universities differ from our university.

IMRaD

IMRaD differs from the usual argument based papers because its more of an experiment based paper. In an IMRaD paper you need the number of participants in your study, procedures, and results.  With argumentative papers you usually just need sources to support you argument. The main points for an IMRaD paper is the intro, methods, results, and discussion. This differs a lot from a argumentitve paper because in in argumentative paper you just need headings and to support the argument you are trying to make.  An IMRaD paper also is more of an explanation of your findings and explaining the results. The set up of the paper is also different between and IMRaD paper and an argumentative paper.  For an IMRaD paper it is set up with separate paragraphs dependent on the intro methods results and discussion.  Argumentative papers are set up with titles you come up with yourself and your explain your sources or argument relating to the title.
