Intro
1) Hook-Have you ever been so happy about getting a new phone but when you got it you realize it is not as great as you thought?
2) Thesis (include Purpose and effectiveness)-Samsung created this commercial to show all the negative aspects about the iPhone throughout the years to show superior features of Samsung compared to the iPhone. This commercial is effective because it exposes the frustration of an iPhone owner since they can relate to these problems. This fulfills the purpose of the commercial.

a) Audience
i) The audience is iPhone users.
ii) Samsung wants iPhone users to relate to this commercial to persuade them into switching to the galaxy.
b) Characters dress casually like everyday people.
i) Since the commercial is more casual it helps to portray an everyday life. Samsung wants to make this commercial for everyone.
ii) The characters go from 2007-2017 showing the different iPhones and Samsung galaxy. iPhone user builds up frustration because of all the problems he is having with his iPhone while the Samsung user stays joyful because she does not have any problems with her phone.
iii) This supports the thesis because at the end of the video the character with the iPhone ends up switching to Samsung.
c) Is this commercial relatable? Do iPhone users get frustrated?
i) All iPhone users say at one point or another were very frustrated with their iPhone.
ii) Things that make you frustrated: Running out of storage, iPhone 7 without a headphone jack so you need to use and buy a bunch of different cords just to listen to music.
iii) Everyone one time or another has dropped their iPhone in water and had to stick it in rice and hope it turns back on. They show in this commercial if you switch to the Samsung Galaxy, you don’t have to worry about that because its waterproof.

i) In 2017 apple got sued for slowing down previous generations of iPhones to make people want to buy the new iPhone.
ii) Angering people whose phones are now messed up because of this.
iii) This even has made people want to make a switch away from iPhones even more.
b) New apple iPhone XS is glass
i) If you drop it, it will most likely shatter and would have to buy a new iPhone or pay hundreds in repairs
ii) Samsung Galaxy’s are more durable.
c) Commercial Ending
i) When the iPhone user finally switches to a galaxy you can see he feels much more relived and happier.
ii) Makes it seem that you’ll be happier if you switch to the Samsung Galaxy.
Conclusion-Overall this commercial tries to play on the emotion of frustration some iPhone users have with the problems the phone has. They want you to realize that switching to Samsung Galaxy saves you the frustration because there are no problems with their phones.
